Gratitude, Appreciation and Compassion for the Love of Art

Learning about an artist may offer an opportunity to connect to the art in various ways.  Perhaps a connection point of a person, place or moment in time.

THE JOURNEY OF ARTIST SHERRILL SWAN-EDMUNDS

I feel it is important to share belief in the energy of the mind, spirit and soul.  When art is created it is from the depths of the soul.  A calling I believe.  A moment in time in which the spirit of life expresses the soul.    I believe each piece of art is individual with its own way of connecting and expressing to the viewer of the art. I also believe it is important to share art as a chosen method of therapy for me as well.  The following I believe to be true as an artist.  Many people have commented that they can connect or see themselves or their lives in or through art.  Perhaps connecting to a person, place or moment in time.  Only God knows why I believe.
1. The art is created with deep emotional expression within my spirit of life, soul & energy of being.
2. The art is unique in its own special way which expresses in a unique language of its own.
3.The art may offer a language in which the art connects which I believe to be an intellectual energy deriving from the spirit of the soul.
4. Painting art is a passion, therapeutic and a true blessing.
5. The art is an expression of the sincerest compassion deriving from the spirit of praying hands which heal I believe.
6. I believe art is the shining star as I hope you do as well.

MY JOURNEY IN BECOMING AN ARTIST

Some may call it a "journey"

Some may call it a "change"

Some may call it a "blessing"

Some may call it a "moment in time"

Some may call it "Living Life"

I call it, "My calling".

Over the last 5 years I have captured moments in time.   Requiring a very strong spirit of faith in believing without a question of a greater power than life itself.  An understanding of a much greater source of power than self or human being was important in order to make logical sense and order from the calling I do believe.  The travels people, places and experiences would encompass who I am in a way that I could have never imagined.  Exposing culture, diversity and the very essence of survival.  Spirit of Life in all of creation all over the world.  The kindness and most gentle moments I have learned to know.  The comfort and welcoming of a newness as being born into a world unannounced to me and unknown with a gentleness and guidance in which I would find surrounding me amongst living life of earth, people, places and creatures.   A full comprehensive understanding and gratitude, appreciation and compassion for the living life in ones soul and spirit of energy which surround and guide.  I feel very blessed in this lifetime and therefore this is why I call "it" a calling.

COMPASSION, LOGIC AND ORDER OF THE ART

I believe in providing great compassion and care with art.  A very strict practice with logic and order.
First, the art is sketched in a sketch book.
Second, the art is stamped on the back with my name as the artist, size of art, medium of art and year and signed.
Then the art is created on the canvas.
If the art allows at times,  photos may be captured during the process to publish with the completed photo of the art. A photo of the completed art and stored in a drive and logged.
Next, the art is placed in a "crib" for drying. Note there are 3 cribs in the process, and I treat my art as though the art are my children.  Once the
art is dried, then it is placed in a sealable bag and labeled.
Next, the art is logged, posted on the websites, social media and online store.
Next the art is moved to the third crib for storage.  There it sits upright next to a cross which is located in the crib with the art.  Only God knows why.
